Kangkalitala

Kangkalitala, the last of the 51 satipeeths, is situated on the banks of the Kopai river, about 7 km from Bolpur station. According to Puranas, the skeleton or waist skeleton of the goddess fell in this place. As a result of which the name here is Kangkalitala. According to Tantra Churamani, this place was known as Kanchi in ancient times. But there is no mother idol or idol here. The image of Mother Kangkali is worshiped here. Puja is performed here every new moon. However, on the new moon of Kali Puja, a special yagna is performed here. This is the real satikunda. In which the skeleton of Sati's mother fell. Here the goddess is Devagarbha, next to the temple is this small banked pond, around which steps descend into the water. According to Puranas, Lord Vishnu’s Sudarshan Chakra struck Sati’s bones here so hard that a Kundara was created. It is said that this holy tank is connected with the Manikarnika ghat of Kashi through 3 tunnels. Through one of them, water comes to that tank throughout the year. And that’s why this pool of Kankalitala never dries up. Many devotees gather daily, so shopkeepers regularly set up shop outside the temple. But we saw both Baul’s song and tribal dance at Bolpur when the temple. Don’t watch it either, come and enjoy it All be well, thank you
